Safe Checks Before You Bring It In

Perform a Hard Reset: Hold down the power button for 10–15 seconds to force a complete shutdown, wait a few seconds, then power back on.
Check the Charging Path: Try the official Valve power supply or a known-good high-wattage USB-PD charger. Inspect the port with a flashlight for debris—never force tools or pins into the port.
Eject the MicroSD Card: A failing or corrupted MicroSD card frequently causes boot loops and long hang times during startup. Try booting without it.
Recalibrate Controls: If you are dealing with minor drift, check the Steam Input settings to test dead zones and run a software calibration before assuming a hardware failure.
