Terms of Service & Warranty

​Warranty Coverage

Geekmatics offers a 1-year limited warranty on all completed micro-soldering and board-level repairs. This warranty covers only the specific issue we repaired. If the same issue reoccurs within the warranty period, we will re-perform the repair or issue a refund if the device cannot be fixed.

  • Warranty claims require the device to be sent back to us for inspection and failure analysis.

  • Shipping to Geekmatics is the customer’s responsibility and is not reimbursed.

Note: This warranty does not apply to data recovery services or to customer-supplied parts.

Shipping & Liability

  • Geekmatics is not responsible for lost or damaged devices during shipping.

  • Customers are responsible for properly packing and insuring their devices before shipping.

  • Accessories (e.g., SIM cards, SD cards, cases) sent with the device are not the responsibility of Geekmatics.

  • If a device is deemed "No Fix", a $15 return shipping fee applies for item's return.

  • If a repair is declined after diagnosis, a $45 service fee will be charged to cover technician time, inspection, reassembly, and return shipping.

Standard return shipping is via USPS Priority Mail and included in the repair fee. No insurance or signature confirmation is included by default. If you'd prefer a different shipping method or additional services (e.g., insurance), please notify us in advance. Any added costs will be billed to you.

iMac Shipping Disclaimer

Due to the delicate design and structure of iMacs, Geekmatics cannot assume liability for any damage incurred during shipping—in either direction. Customers sending iMacs for service do so at their own risk.

  • We will professionally re-pack iMacs for return shipping, and the packing cost will be added to your invoice.

  • Insurance is optional but strongly recommended.

Damage in Transit
If your item is damaged in return transit:

  • You must notify us within 5 days of delivery.

  • Provide photos of the damage.

  • Return the item in the original box with all original packing materials.

If these steps are not followed, any claim will be void. Geekmatics may, at its discretion, assist in filing a claim with the carrier, but we do not accept deductions or offsets from the customer related to such damage.

Diagnostic Policy (Shops Only)

If a board-level repair is requested and we discover the issue is due to parts or a software problem, we will:

  • Charge only a $45 diagnostic fee (which includes return shipping).

  • Offer the option to complete the full repair. If accepted, the diagnostic fee is waived.

iPad Screen Removal (Shops Only)

If an iPad is sent in with the screen sealed/assembled, and screen removal is required:

  • A $30 screen removal fee applies.

  • Geekmatics is not responsible for any damage incurred during the removal process.

  • Some screen types may not be eligible for removal. Please contact us in advance with any concerns: 727-230-3696. 

Apple Device Repairs

Geekmatics is proud to be part of the Apple Independent Repair Program (IRP). We use:

  • Genuine Apple parts

  • Apple diagnostics, tools, and repair processes

This ensures that your Apple device is repaired safely and correctly.

Important: Choosing non-genuine (third-party) parts may compromise your device’s functionality or safety, and may void any remaining Apple warranty.

IRP repairs are generally excluded from Apple’s warranty, unless required by law. Geekmatics provides its own warranty (excluding parts) for repairs performed under this program.
