The Role: Field Expert (Not an Entry-Level Position)

Are you a tech expert who prefers the field over a workbench? Geekmatics is seeking an Onsite Technician to be the face of our company in the community.

This is a high-autonomy role for a seasoned pro who can walk into a local business, assess a dead server or a messy network, and solve the problem without a manual or a supervisor. You will travel to residential and business clients to solve technical headaches on the spot.

 Primary Responsibilities

• Field Support: Troubleshooting and repairing computers, peripherals, and mobile devices at client locations.

• Network Strategy: Installing and configuring Wi-Fi routers, mesh systems, and wired networking for homes and small businesses.

• On-the-Fly Solutions: Real-time diagnosis of software issues, printer connectivity, and hardware failures.

• Technical Consulting: Advising clients on upgrades, security best practices, and hardware purchases.                                                                                                                                                    

•  Technical Skills Required

• Full Proficiency: Expert knowledge of both Windows and macOS environments.

• Network Mastery: Deep understanding of SSID configuration, port forwarding, and signal optimization.

• Hardware Agility: Ability to perform hardware swaps (SSD/RAM/PSU) efficiently on-site.

• Cloud Integration: Familiarity with mobile device syncing and Google Workspace/iCloud environments.

 What You Bring to the Table

• Total Autonomy: This is not a training role. You are a master troubleshooter capable of working with zero supervision.

• Proven Experience: Significant previous experience as a field-tech is mandatory.

• Professionalism: You represent a high-end brand. A neat, professional presentation in homes and offices is required.

• Mobility: Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and a reliable vehicle.

• Local Focus: Must be a resident of the Palm Harbor / Pinellas / South Pasco / West Hillsborough area.
